# Design config for the filters orientation

#### What's new

New design config allows you to configure whether product filters should be displayed as a horizontal widget above the product list (new setting) or in the sidebar (as it worked previously).

#### Changes in API

New `product_filters_orientation` design config (string type) allows you to change the product filters orientation on the storefront:

* `HORIZONTAL` enables a new design where filters are displayed above the product list.
* `VERTICAL` (default) enables product filters in the sidebar. This value is also applied if the `product_filters_orientation` config is omitted.

This setting can be enabled as a store config (through the <mark style="color:purple;">`PUT`</mark> `/profile` call) or as a design config setting on the storefront by adding JS/HTML code to your website.
